In my time tracking system, I bin email checking/replying, (general) planning, and time tracking/analysis together (since they're often heavily interconnected). I could compute/look-up how much this bin takes up per month, but I'm not sure if that will answer your question.

I prefer to plan for a month after it is over. Much more accurate that way.
