Yea, I've done intermittent fasting for a decade. "Oh! Why did you get started? Better health? Mindfulness? The hypothesized relationship with cancer?" Ostensibly sure. But mostly after undergrad I discovered that, without a dinning hall, obtaining food is a lot more work.
Most recently it's the default. "Mindfulness" is very en vogue.

My brain *does* think more clearly fasted. It's just not why I really do it. And I don't put much energy into hypothesizing why that's true because the real reason is the cancer one.
