A (semi-common?) #OSS conflict.
I've been thinking that,
I should give some of my OSS repos
to people interested in maintaining
them for the sake of my time.
but,
They are also a real form of capital
so I don't want to give them away.
Yea, I think that's def true. Although, there's also cases where giving it away harms your reputation, too. In a few cases, I felt like the new (already overworked) maintainer resented that I gave them yet another thing to maintain for the sake of their community.

Yeah that hurts. Moving to a new maintainer can be difficult and I was writing with the assumption of "there's already a clear maintainer and is a good candidate but I am hanging onto it because I want to"

at some point though your time and energy counts more than contributing to someone else's free SW - so if someone's upset that you cant contribute to a project anymore they can eat a pound of hair or pay you
