2/ Like, it's good to be proud of your gains. And, I'm not saying you're not putting in the hours. But, assuming other people are not — besides being dickish — is going to feel even shittier later on when the required effort increases non-linearly.

have had an interestg experience re this, had to switch to just eating meat a few yrs ago to keep autoimmune probs in remission & it has been so easy to maintain musculature & strength w minimal exercise (every 2-3 mos) it's not why I do it but that side effect has been startling

Yea. I realized that for the three months I tried vegetarian once. I felt terrible and loss mass so quickly.
