Hypothesis: If you don't follow anyone with less than [a small number of] followers, it shows. If you're here for new ideas, different perspectives, and good conversations, follower counts aren't a very good indicator. They're mostly a proxy for VeRy OnLiNe / usage.

I feel like some of my funnest conversations are with you. And you have a pretty high follower count; at least compared to most accounts I follow. I feel like there is a number that is 'too small' & indicates the user doesn't actually use twitter. Except maybe to advertise.

Maybe the right proxy is [num followers]/[num following]. If you follow lots of accounts that are high in this number then maybe you aren't after engagement and just want to lurk.

Yea, I think that's probably the critical ratio. Which is funny, because it's used the opposite way. I have high followers but my ratio is considered bad because I follow back given similar interests and I prune only if someone injects something pure asshole into my feed.
