That’s been happening to me too — I see a tweet from like 6 months ago re-surface on my timeline & I’m sure I liked it but the tweet says otherwise.

Interesting. This may be a bit more obsessive than either of you is willing to be, but next time it happens, if you save the tweet id, you can then download your fill dataset in a zip file and see if it's liked in there.

There are very specific like history limitations in the API (2000 iirc) that seem to signal platform limitations. So it might be > 2000 likes ago (or something like that).

I do like a ton of tweets tho, as a consequence of being Very Online. So it makes a lot of sense to me that there would be a rolling cap & every tweet I like kicks one tweet like of the end of the listpic.twitter.com/cxcmcl4e4s

I switch between the web interface and the app a lot. They don't seem to be very synced. So what I've noticed is if the web interface and app are simultaneously open, one interface can override the other and remove likes.

Also sometimes likes on WiFi don’t “save” maybe because the signal is weak? Probably these are not things people who aren’t Very Online would notice, but here we are ...
