The bad effects only manifest when your chamber and mine are socially-partitioned and spend a pathology-inducing amount of time in adversarial inter-group contact. Absent that, mistakes tend to melt away because errors are expensive.

A lot of people have lost the art of listening to adults they think are talking nonsense. Think about talking to a child. Sometimes they don't 100% make sense, but you listen patiently and try to relate, because the socialization is good for you and good for the child.
