Just heard back from a postdoc that I was a finalist for. Can someone with a degree in this sort of thing please explain why I handle rejection better than uncertainty?

I don't have a degree in that, but I just want to say that I typically feel the same way. I delight in the resolution of uncertainty everywhere I look for it, and it turns out that feeling is large enough to *just* compensate for rejections.

Yep. The feeling is always just something like relief? Like "Oh yeah, I can stop worrying about this thing."

Yea. The anticipation/worry is a steadily draining battery.
