When you're young, you have emotional attachments but no theory of mind. Then, you do, but grow towards individualism. Eventually, you outgrow that and realize that, while you have agency, "you" is a bunch of overlapping people. Then you die, except not all of them do.

I feel that there is very little “random”-ness behind why some of us like the random stuff that we like. It all fits a certain way... and we all see the ways it all fits... just that some of us see it one way and some others other ways.
