The people who teach grievance and resentment as an appropriate political stance. The people who would rather see oscillating exploitation between groups instead of cooperation.

I'm still not following here. Are you're saying that it's telling that "I immediately associate" "people who teach grievance and resentment" with "Identity politics"?

Yes. Those two things aren't necessarily related in theory, and yet there's a reason they are associated on your mind. You could say that it's because it's associated in the minds of the critics of identity politics, but then there's a reason for that as well.

You could dismiss your critics as dullards, but then you are engaging in echo chamber thinking. My contention is that there is a valid criticism hiding in the message you are dismissing. It's not a "gotcha" argument. It's my viewpoint from my experience in Venezuela.

Unless I'm missing something — other than the usage of fool which selected the audience I wanted to engage with — the message you suggest I am dismissing and the message I am making are the same message.https://twitter.com/generativist/status/1110618331768197120 …

Did you mean tool? The point you are trying to make is muddled. The message I'm talking about is that creating resentment and enmity on the basis of an identity trait is bound to trigger an equal and opposite reaction along the same axis, so it shouldn't surprise you.

No I mean "fool" because I said "foolish" in the very first message in the thread you responded to.

I see. Well, I don't object to using barbs to make a point here and there, so that's fine. I thought you meant tool as in Twitter, given that there's a lot of animosity in this medium.

No, but I certainly think the medium doesn't help,https://twitter.com/generativist/status/1088186435855822848 …

I don't even think G is a hypothetical good thing. The "right to be forgotten" isn't just a good right, but a good default.
