I have one friend that I communicate with entirely through memes *about* memes. Like, we just sporadically send funny shit to each other, and that is the entirety of our social experience at this point. We is a strange ass loop.

I've been meaning to ask. What is a loop? And how and why does one break one?

I use it in a weird way that I'm sure no one gets because it isn't obvious at all. In *my* head, it's a cross between Hofstadter, my infatuation with recursion, signal feedback, and while(true){}.https://twitter.com/microjudgments/status/1108836490795057152 …

We spend our lives trying to narrow the distance between who we are and who we want to be. But sometimes perception causes loops we can't break out of. I'd like to design things that makes it easier, however limited the effect may be.

Reminds me of the Cycle of Self-interference from "Inner Game of Tennis" author Tim Galloway.pic.twitter.com/Ne1qGefbv9

This thread makes me happy. I’d like to support this design effort with a causal loop diagram of the strategic landscape of information needed to design for loop-breaking.

No, I'm only aware of him because I've come across references like the one you provided in business-y books. Should I read him?
