What I would do: cite the conference name, but put the arXiv number instead of pages.

Page numbers are irrelevant information (no one looks for an article in printed volumes, people download PDF nowadays) that are only here to please predatory scientific editors. Do cite the arXiv version, it's the one people will access anyway, and it can get updated if need be.

Oh I agree completely. This is just one of those old institutional hangovers that saddles me with useless consistency-seeking behaviors.
