1. A stretch, as it's just a confidently written memoir: "Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman!" 2. "The Elegant Universe" by Brian Greene for being well crafted 3. And this one is fringe at best but really sells its premise: "The Presence of Past" by Rupert Sheldrake

I read 1 and 2 and really like them. I have 3 in my closet bookshelf along with other fringy stuff (e.g. The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind) because I find fringy fascinating, but I haven't read it yet.
