I think we need more user-enabled, frictionless, ego-centric...attenuation. Like, if you could look at the social media connectome, I think it would look like a hairball. With so little structure, social stereotyping plays a pathologically outsized role.
That matters because the collision between identities has asymmetric effects on group durability. Progressive groups may get *some* sustenance from that type of conflict; but, for groups like neo-nazis, it's the mainline.
