I think Peter Thiel is right: entrepreneurship isn't about competition it's about discovering and constructing monopolies. That gets especially scary when you start thinking about monopolistic control of attention.

(And yes, it's monopolistic not oligopolistic: The big social media companies use essentially the same loss function to optimize attention commodification. They're different entities in legal terms alone.)
