I wish there was a low-friction cue I could add to tweets to distinguish idle speculation and naval-gazing from "no no, this is a sound and empirically-validated finding."

Me too! Though if I were a VC on twitter, I would pretty much just make a rule for myself: I can't talk about homelessness, or the mayor, etc. Just too much gross transitive authority carried with every tweet. (In their defense, media *ask* them to opine on these things?!?)
