I was arguing with somebody about whether IQ had a biological foundation. He was arguing that cognitive functions must have some translation into structure of blood vessels, metabolism of glucose etc. I realized he was just saying 'Natural selection exists.' which it does.

But beyond that he was saying, natural selection in this specific case: 1. exists; 2. can be decomposed into rules, that are 3. discoverable and comprehensible to humans. Not exactly impossible. But sounds like a lot of gut feelings about the mystical power of evolution to me!
