Conundrum: I managed to get some of the coffee machine descaling solution on my hand. I flushed it quickly, but it's still irritated. Do I, 1) Show my dermatologist fiancée, and explain how I couldn't follow the instructions; or, 2) Assume my body can take care of itself?

Isn't descaling fluid just a weak acid? I know you can descale with vinegar or lemon juice if you can't be bothered to buy special stuff. I'm not a doctor, but I figure there's no need to tell the fiancee unless you think she'd enjoy it as a funny story!

Yea, I think so. I almost certainly will tell her later just to be safe, but it's already stopped hurting. Plus, she'll enjoy being able to say something in the "I told you so" family, which is nice for her.
