Depends on length & structure of the work. It could very well be that people don't read whole thing (so will only see one instance of analogy) or will read 1st instance so long ago that they'll appreciate 2nd instance (& be more compelled by it, since it'll seem more 'familiar').

I actually agree with this. Like, without reservation. And when I read it in someone else's work, I always think of it more like acting as two pillars connected by everything between. But, editing distorts a lot of my perspective...
