If you could recommend one and only one book that you read this year, what would it be?

I was late to the party on "Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell" (Susanna Clarke), but it was a fantastic read. What's yours?

I was very very very late to the party, but for the first time I read... Dune! And it was incredible.

It wasn't the first time I had read it, but my recommendation would be The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. It's book 1 in a 2.5 book series called Kingkiller Chronicles, and it's fantastic!

I need more fantasy series. I don't think I read any this year...

Other series I've read over the last year and recommend would be The Grimnoir Chronicles, The Land (technically a LitRPG genre series), Mistborne, and the Red Rising series. All great reads! (I have a LOT of commute time, it turns out)

That's the *only* thing commutes are good for.
