If you could recommend one and only one book that you read this year, what would it be?

I was late to the party on "Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell" (Susanna Clarke), but it was a fantastic read. What's yours?

I was very very very late to the party, but for the first time I read... Dune! And it was incredible.

It wasn't the first time I had read it, but my recommendation would be The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. It's book 1 in a 2.5 book series called Kingkiller Chronicles, and it's fantastic!

This is the second time this has come up this week. I'll endeavour to get this in front of my eyeballs ASAP. Have you read any Christopher Moore? I like a bit of weirdness this time of year, and Sacré Bleu is the perfect mix of history, dick jokes, swears, and art.

Haha. That's a combo. (I haven't read Christopher Moore.)
