That’s how it should be. Cars are absolutely terrible. In high school they feel like freedom. After that, it’s an anchor dragging you under the water.

I just moved back to California after 20 years in D.C. Lived above subway and on several major bus lines. Eight zip cars in my building. I was grateful for those, only needed them to go to the vet. Unfortunately, no way to use pub tran/ride share safely or easily with a sick dog.

I live a mile from beach and rarely go, tbh. Not because it's a tourist destination, but due to all the Instagram thirst traps who block everything/huff at you for ruining their "shot". I hate this place. Was supposed to move to Detroit, was excited to, switched to L.A. last min.

Hahaha. Oh god first week i was there someone was doing that shit with their frenchie on sunset and I immediately panicked, recognizing i was not LA people.

I was in west hollywood for a year. I love the beach. I wish i was bob ballard. I made it to the beach exactly once.

Where the fuck do they think these hypothetical soccer moms will park? Yes, it is obviously easier to have kids (and dogs!) in the city if you own a comfy SUV, but the last time I easily found parking in San Francisco was...2009. That way of life is not coming back. Move forward.

Yea. Honestly every time my fiancée and I go to SF by car, I dread it.

I did not have a choice. No city I've lived in loves dogs more than this one, but finding an apartment that allowed them that was handicapped accessible/not a walk-up was astonishingly difficult. I needed ground floor, pets okay, W/D. This was literally only place with all three.

My bf flew here from Detroit three times to explore neighborhoods and find a rental. The only thing worse than nightmarish traffic here is the shortage of affordable or accessible housing. He's a born and bred Michigander and *loves* L.A. because: "I never have to wear a coat!"
