I've been probing a result counter to my hypotheses in a critical part of my dissertation for about a week now. Now, I'm investigating if there are multiple mechanisms for emergent polarization to facilitate social/belief organization. That would be a nice, unexpected result.

P.S. The counter-intuitive result? I expected a big difference in one statistic when partitioning by social groups, but for some sims the gap was small. Suspiciously small. Literally, at the limits of float64 small... ...then I checked the unconditional variance.pic.twitter.com/bkOjFoPySh
