I was actually looking for a word for this pattern generalized yesterday. That is, analogies that are incorrect to domain experts in one field -- but useful and clarifying to those making the error willfully.

Like, I use medical / disease analogies all the time. Those processes form an almost universal complex language in some cases -- because everyone has some familiarity with them. A biologist might immediately say, "that's not how it works" -- but, I'm not claiming it is...

I'm just trying to convey a useful, low-res map as quickly as possible. And, my domain expertise often gets in the way of doing so, almost because it compels high resolution thoughts.
