In all seriousness though, it was meant as something playful, but two people have said something like, "that's a bold claim" or "do you really want to invite that comparison to CSS?" So, now I'm not confident in it even though it's tongue-in-cheek.

It probably depends who your audience is. If it's primarily your committee, do whatever you (or they) want. If you want to release it and encourage other people use it, the name should probably be appropriately scoped.
