What do you think of rhetorical questions as a communicative / pedagogical device?
Right now, my methodology section. An example: > It answers the question: what does an agent sampled uniformly from the set of all agents expect to obtain as a payoff assuming it has agency over activity selection?

Oh I think that's completely appropriate. In writing style and rhetoric, I've adopted the view that a dissertation is written as a collaborative discussion with the reader. 1/2

2/2 So the rhetorical question is a way of making explicit what might be in the mind of a careful or skeptical reader. It shows you are aware of many angles in an argument. BUT -- give some context or basis for the question. Why would it arise?
