Embodied cognition is so obviously true that it’s hard to understand why many AI/cognitive scientists ignore it. Academia in general also tends to ignore it.
Don't take mine as a recommendation. I haven't read it since then -- too afraid of how now-me would evaluate it ;)

I had a similar experience with “The Fabric of Reality” by David Deutsch, it came out just as I started my sophomore year in college.
