Technical book writers: Do you ever use static analysis tools to get a sense of function/method/class usage frequencies in real projects for pedagogical purposes?
I feel like it would be useful in the same way it is when learning a language. You don't teach in order from most freq to least, but you use it to make decisions so that your reader can start doing practical things quickly, helping them stick with it.

I was being a bit facetious. Practical applications are needed as you go step-by-step, otherwise you don't know that the reader is understanding the material. Yes, I imagine the book to be a pedagogical conversation.
