Random idea: I'd like to work with a game designer to build a game where you have to find the lowest point on a rugged terrain. But, you can only see the height once you've visited somewhere. What strategies would people use? (Log them.)

This is literally what I do with molecules. Can cost hours of GPU time to observe your “elevation”. Variations on the theme of gradient descent vs global Gaussian Process optimisation is a current project.
