I'd be a lot more okay with that benefit if I was the one who controlled my like propagation. I often use like as a bookmark because the actual bookmark action takes two steps and that's obviously too much friction. Who has that kinda time?

I so agree. I have actually taken to favoriting less stuff, for this reason, which makes me sad.

Yea, me too :/ It's very obviously something twitter does to inflate engagements in a way that makes me want to interact with people more reservedly.
