I still don't understand why SGU got canceled. It was a good show. This thought sponsored by insomnia and a 3AM viewing session.

To expand a little bit, SGU (beyond having two tropes I really disliked in it), was definitely of the Battlestar Galactica “grim and gritty, hard men making hard choices” template. That was…totally at odds with the previous shows.

Oh, yea that part I can see. I really liked Eli I think. But for me it is was the idea of being that utterly stranded in space that made it cool.

I love that you knew *exactly* what one of the tropes I disliked was without mentioning it. And yeah, I really liked the initial concept. Really, it was just the tonal shift that got me.

:) Have any new ones you liked? I just finished The Expanse (really liked it). But, otherwise, I haven't found anything that really grabbed me lately.

Really like The Expanse - but yeah, nothing’s really grabbed me for awhile. I thought Defiance was interesting, but it too was canceled.
