I quit nail-biting after +20 years. The trick? I have no clue. I was just having lunch with my dad and my wife, he mentioned how I still bit my nails and should quit it. I mentioned how my wife doesn't quit smoking. We made a bet of quitting together.
I quit around 3 months ago, she lit a cigar that day, just as she arrived home 
So I won, basically.
Not any advice from my part, just self control and the pride of saying "HAH, I WON". Every time I found myself about to bite a nail I thought "wait, I won't, so I can rub it in her face" and stopped. Although I still pull small skins sometimes, just because "they're there"
