I *hear* the higher frequencies in the sound, but my brain locks onto the lower Laurel sounds and seems to discard the higher ones as background noise.

Interesting. My ASD son, who has acute hearing *and* a limited ability to filter and disregard noise while processing sound, also hears Yanny.
