Hive mind - under Level 3 Covid stuff, are we able to go and see an elderly relative across town and come back - ie not stay in there or invite them to join our bubble? Currently unsure if that's a bubble burst or allowed, and website v vague for Covid. Thanks - appreciate help

I think if you're not wanting to join their bubble then you could go visit simply to drop something off, so long as you keep 2m away.

but what if it's a case of visiting as it's the other side of town, then going away again?

If you're staying in your region it should be ok. But it's whether the visit is classed as unnecessary travel.

Reconnecting with a relative is the purpose. And unable to find out whether that's actually unnecessary travel - it is regional though, it's across Auckland

Are they in a solo bubble? If so, is there any reason you shouldn't join there bubble? If they're not, can you connect via phone/video chat?

i think it's too much trouble - guessing as it's so grey, then we leave it.
