It's about WHY June went back. It's about WHY Mrs Waterford gave her the baby. It's about IF Emily got out with the baby. It's about WHAT happened to the Marthas. It's about WHAT COMES NEXT.

IT looks tedious AF. This show deals in constant and consistent misery. Set a date for it to end for narrative purposes to give it a drive it needs and lost in S2

Wow. Guess you didn't get preview screeners then! I would have expected more than a snarky statement from someone who hasn't seen the new series. BAD look for a reviewer, really - though l should ask: are you still at TVNZ?

I know some people found S2 heavy going. There were a lot of pretty confronting visuals matched with some really confronting ideas. It was not "easy" tv, especially with what has been going on in the world over the last few years.

S3 - from what l've seen of it - has taken that onboard. There's not the violent imagery that some past episodes have shown us. We *know* what goes on in Gilead, we knows the offensive ideas behind it. S3 is about bringing it down through the connections forged living thru that.

Wounds heal by flesh knitting together. This season is about people knitting together. What that can look like. What that can mean. This season is truly off book. Another reason why S1 & S2 were so strongly cemented into place. .

This season is where the writing is really going to shine. Think - The Americans.

And I have to say, a great show looks beyond its fans to entice non-fans into its fold, as that's where its future lies. A good show services only its audience well, and no further afield.
