Yeah, I really did. The score and sound design in particular are pretty astounding. I like how all the elements (visual, aural, narrative) are set to disorient. You?
A bit mixed, to be honest. Kept thinking "we don't really need a Taxi Driver remake" but I think I was just wasn't on the right mindset. I also remember it to be pretty harrowing.
Yeah, fair enough. I've read a few other reasonable critiques as well but I connected with this on a visceral (sight'n'sound) level more than a narrative level, though I liked the deconstructed/subverted psych-crime-thriller well enough too.
Yes def, she's so good with regards to sight and sound.
Loved the way you rarely saw the actual violence.
Made the brutality even more visceral and gut-wrenching.
