@gdri Me and MrNorbert1994 just discovered that StarTropics uses Birthday's sound engine; specifically the version used in Juvei Quest, Kaijuu Monogatari, and To The Earth.

I wonder if Locomotive did it. Norbert also believes based on the code, ACC and Technos worked on Top-Rider. Not sure though.

I think Hirasawa was freelance? But he said something about it being coded like the Technos games.

Hitoshi Akashi told me he didn't know the relationship between the Top Rider team and Sonata in detail, but the game was developed at a different location. He also commented on Michiya Hirasawa. I should really post that.

What's even more interesting is the composer Yoshio Hirai I think was a composer for Tose. StarTropics 2 appears to have its own sound driver that isn't used in any other game.
