Two Game Boy games, Peetan and the unreleased Rainbow Chips, seem to be based on Kaneko arcade games that never came out.https://twitter.com/Dosunceste/status/564886091929780224 …

There's a copyright registration for something called Flash Canon or Flash Cannon by Kaneko from 1983.

It's a shame since I have a soft spot for games like these, especially on handhelds. The sorta "colorful/magical" themed games (even on a system without color), sorta like the same category that stuff like Rod-Land and Magical Puzzle Popils fall into.

I've asked ShouTime if he knows anything of the arcade origins of these, as he's pretty good at digging up lost history (the Kaneko developed Jump Kun, which is now supported in MAME for example)

Let’s hope there is a promo cart somewhere finding its way to the game preservation community.
