We would like to deeply condemn the misinformation being spread and the way Nia and @UziSuzy are being attacked. It is a shame that students once again must do the labor of correcting a false narrative, however we will not sit idly and allow this to happen.pic.twitter.com/vKaenxkkQF

We urge news outlets such as @Bossip @TLMarcovitzCNN @nypost and @nytimes to correct their articles to reflect this information, instead of allowing students to be attacked and demonized for a situation out of their control.

@nyuniversity and @Aramark both release statements clarifying that NYU students did not ask for employees to be fired, that students had a right to voice concerns and that employees were fired because they violated company policy.pic.twitter.com/zAIl2gGgEH

Why were the two cooks (irregardless of race) fired? We’re they intentionally trying to mock black people with these particular food/drink choices ( plausible) and if so, what evidence do you have for this? Was it just a mistake? What evidence do you have that ?

Okay. I’ve read through it. I understand your concerns (some are more valid than others) but this all seems a bit much over some food! Yes? No?

Again, you can read Aramark’s response. They decided to fire people. Not NYU. That is something you should talk to Aramark about.

My question, "Could this have been addressed another way?" Kayla made and posted a provocative video labeling the drinks "coonish". She is adding to the racism with offensive language. How are you going to post this video and not expect that someone might be fired as a result?pic.twitter.com/W61X8Bone3

Just think about the consequences of your actions. People have families that they support with thier job.

Teaching moment: 30 yr old today has no clue about watermelon offensive stereotype. Born after wiped from mainstream. #BlackHistoryMonth2018 teach by showing painful side of history so young people will understand how something simple like WM is hurtful.
