I was out having a pie with an Elixir friend yesterday, and we talked about the upcoming Tortoise version. He told me to keep the current API, and I told him I cannot. There are many reasons for this—I gave a talk about it at CodeBeam STO https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BP9J6vKgKf8 … 1/n

The API will change, alot—so I cannot keep the current one. I will switch the version number to 1.0.0, and the users will have to rewrite their Tortoise handlers to support the new version. 2/n

I know this kind of sucks. But, Tortoise is not your application, so hopefully it shouldn't take too long to replace the current implementations with a new one, and I promise it will be worth it. 3/3

The «Tortoise is not your application» is a reference to the talk «Phoenix is not your application» by @lance_halvorsen. If you use tortoise it is “yours” as per the license (Apache 2.0)
