As much as this sort of thing endlessly amuses me, Post-Gazette ownership should put on the big boy pants, stop breaking the law and start negotiating a settlement with their workers so that everybody can get on with their lives.

This is a real ad that the Post-Gazette ran. They literally put in the newspaper that they’re mad. Whatever Pittsburgh’s new economy is, it’s going to be worker led and union. Ask @pghsbuxunited @CWAUnion or any other group of workers fighting.

You know what would help get rid of inflatable rats 🐀? Bargaining in good faith. I don’t know who the Blocks think they are fooling with idiotic ads like this

Happy New Year! 🎆
Quote Tweet
We sent our CEO @merrillwilliams a small card with some important 2023 resolutions, among them: • A pay floor for all employees (we've proposed $55K) • Annual cost-of-living raises • Better, equitable parental leave • A commitment to diversity—both in hiring and retention
Person delivering giant holiday card to Washingtonian's CEO.
Happy New Year from the Washingtonian Guild! The start of a new year is often celebrated with resolutions. This year, we hope you will resolve to help us build a stronger, more equitable Washingtonian by finishing negotiations on a collective bargaining agreement. These are our goals, which we think will foster positive change and improve people's lives. We urge you to adopt Washingtonian Guild's propositions as your own resolutions this January. Here are some highlights:
• Establish salary floors for all positions to ensure employees are
compensated fairly and will stay with the company.
• Commit to annual cost-of-living raises to keep up with increasing
prices in the DC area.
• Put in place 20 weeks of fully paid parental leave for parents of
all genders.
• Set up diversity, equity, and inclusion practices in hiring to
create a welcoming, safe environment for all-and keep employees
from diverse backgrounds here. (continued on next photo)
• Establish two floating holidays for employees with different needs
and backgrounds.
• Formalize the ability to choose fully remote work.
