Agree the folks pushed to these actions are suffering and jailing them is solving a symptom, not the disease. That said, the cost of letting these actions go entirely free of consequence is the increased suffering of other San Franciscans in terms of safety and comfort.
Going meta: I'd venture on scale of "strongly agree" to "strongly disagree" with statement, "reducing individual suffering is a collective responsibility" we would have some but not extreme difference
Now, in either extreme on that spectrum, whether one blames the system or the individual for the result of someone living on SF streets, it doesn't seem like it's the fault of the average San Franciscan. Yet they're the ones dealing w/ the consequences. That's why I wow'd.
