Some comments on fishing. I was an exec in the digital agency for WWF in the late 90s/early 2000s, and as such was closely involved in the global campaign to stop overfishing. I know things, cos I was there. It might help you to learn some basic stuff 1/9

I am *absolutely certain* you'll either: - vehemently disagree without evidence - or tell me I'm wrong without proof - or invite supporters to pile on - or block me Maybe all 4. But none of those things change the facts. I was there. This happened. It's time you realised 9/9

The UK government used to hold all the licences to fish in UK waters. But we privatised it. Sold those licences to large fishing businesses, who then sold them again. So if you see Dutch trawlers in UK waters, it's because the UK sold off the rights. We did it. Not the EU 5/9

The UK was part of the EU, so signed to this agreement as the EU. But we would have signed anyway. I was sat in rooms with ministers who said so. The idea that the EU destroyed UK fishing is bunkum. This was a GLOBAL, voluntary agreement. But there's a second point... 4/9

The US is likely to have collected around $72Bn Customs duties on $2.2Tn goods imports in 2019. (Approx 3.2%) For the UK (still under the EU Customs Union tariffs) the equivalent figures are £3.2Bn on £500Bn goods imports. (Approx 0.6%)

"What we joined was a common market, nothing more" On this day in 1963, ten years before UK joined the (then) European Communities, the European Court of Justice held the special nature of EC rights in Van Gend en Loos Plain what UK was joining in 1973

Musicians! need your help – complete their new survey to tell the Government exactly what needs to be in future trade deals to protect musicians and the music industry. This is your chance to have your say:

Chloe Smith - This government is committed to being open in its dealings with the Press... & the events of yesterday were a very good example of this. This is rightly met with howls of laughter. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Colour me surprised! It’s like that moment in Lord of the Rings when the king suddenly realises he’s been listening to a load of crap and finally wakes up.

I'm glad you've noticed, but this sort of backsliding really needed to be pointed out 6mths ago! The has been asleep at the wheel. You will be held partially responsible for (rebranded as *Australia-style*), when it happens on 1Jan21.

I can safely say that in 22 years of being a political journalist, I've never experienced a day like today. No.10 sources now insisting that political editors like myself "are not banned, they are just not invited".

Just reading about a failing state where the leader is wilfully destroying the economy and refuses to release details of foreign interference and now wants to control which press has access to government briefings and sorry that’s us.

Breaking/ just tried to ban certain national newspapers from a Number 10 briefing. This is truly sinister stuff. Hats off to the BBC, ITV, Mail, Telegraph & Times for walking out too in protest, rather than let him get away with it.

A spokesman for Nissan Europe said: "We deny such a contingency plan exists. We’ve modelled every possible ramification of Brexit and the fact remains that our entire business both in the UK and in Europe is not sustainable in the event of WTO tariffs.” Is the only truth.

    1. Early release of offenders imprisoned for the type of offences committed by Sudesh Amman was ended by the Counter-Terrorism and Border Security Act 2019. 2. If other obvious measures were not included in that Act, questions should be asked of then-Home Secretary
