Of course I was strongly supportive of Regional Rail (although I didn't use that name).
Well, I've made my comments on the @MBTA's "Focus 40" draft. Basically saying what I've been saying On Here for the last year-plus.

I also commended them on the planned replacement of the Green Line fleet with standard, competitively-sourced light-rail vehicles, although I advocated for full build of GLX to Mystic Valley Parkway and for modeling future extension of from Union Square to Porter.

I also advocated conversion of the Needham Line CR to a combination of Orange and Green (abandoning the single-track bridge across the wetlands between West Rox and Needham Jct.

I expressed some support for non-Regional Rail initiatives on the north side, where there is a lot of work to be done that doesn't ultimately compete with future RR operations there and is necessary in the short term to improve service reliability.

For the south side I of course stressed the need for high-level platforms and strongly opposed procurements of additional diesel-hauled rolling stock, even to replace existing equipment, because the sunk cost fallacy is deeply embedded in government agencies (not in those words).

And I noted that the Fairmount Line serves an EJ community and under Regional Rail-type operations with proper fare integration should support a rapid-transit level of service.

For my own personal benefit, I argued for the full build of West Station and some sort of connection (Grand Junction rail eventually, but in the interim a bus might suffice) to MIT.

I also raised the issue of again studying passenger service on the Agricultural Branch, which now passes many more job destinations than when it was last studied in the mid-1980s.

Finally, I argued for the construction of a proper Red-Blue Link. The draft's discussion of a Blue Line to Park St. idea was the first I'd heard of such a proposal, which seems intended to sandbag Blue Line to Charles advocacy.
