In our latest article, video game theorist Dr. Christina Fawcett discusses the Batman: Arkham games. For games where you beat up patients in an asylum, yes, there's stigmatising content, but they might make us think about the surrounding issues.

Matthew Seiji Burns on the ideas behind game Eliza "I couldn’t help but feel intrigued, yet also alarmed, at how fast & how deeply we’re committing to applying the tech company mindset, & accompanying toolset, to the complex issue of mental health."

There probably isn't a sensitive way to phrase this, to be fair

“He’s not really a ‘rage gamer’ or one of those ‘high-octane streamers’ who sound like they’re running on 16 cans of Red Bull. His streams have helped me relax & zone-out when I’m dealing with a lot of anxiety & depression both politically & personally.”

hiii! here's a game i think everyone should play!! trigger warning though, there are mentions of suicide and there is some depictions of self harm! but it is such a good game, and the art style is beautiful. 10/10.

So like I just played that anxiety game by and it hits a little to close to home. Thanks for that experience. It was great! Game:

Plug-and-play cross-sectional study waiting to happen. Not sure if there's a big scientific issue there, tough - except perhaps to *really* take care to distinguish between normal-but-high and "patological" range. Would require good measures and behavor data to do.

The Peephole’s Chronicles: Weird John claims to let you "live the paranoid experience" as "an anxious character who barricated himself in his living room, terrified of the whole world." Seems to lean more creepy than sensitive, but interesting concept.
