When I started looking into games as a teen I wanted to be a game artist (didn't have a portfolio at the time so couldn't apply to courses). I've been in college then working in games since '09 and I still can't do 3D modeling
There was a time where I tried every 3D modeling software I could get my hands on and Maya was the only one where the interface made any sense to me. Not sure how/if it has changed since.
