Catan in VR sounds dreadful. I predict cheesy special effects while trading and gameplay become more difficult due to interface challenges.

Yeah, agree. Don't see any advantage to this, other than as an experiment that'll probably underline what not to do in the future.

I applaud them for experimenting, but I've played lots of VR games and just don't see this working. Happy to be wrong though.

I don't see a lot of boardgames that would benefit from VR. The main benefit would be feeling you're surrounded by the other players.
