why do you suggest that? Did it end up feeling like an overload?
The thing I loved the most about Hyperion is the structure, a series of short stories with radically different settings and tones.
Fall of Hyperion didn't have that, and it made it harder to bear - but it's impressive to see how it connects everything.
The following two books are even further from the original. They take place 300 years after Fall and those events are a distant memory.
I can't really compare them because I'm still only 65% through Endymion and taking a break before I give it another chance.
It's good but it doesn't have any of the things that made me pick it up.

Not yet! Other than Endymion I've been reading some Discworld and Characteristics of Games (game design, highly recommended).
