To me that was the most distressing part. Having no control over how my body was going to react, scaring the doctors/dentists, and leaving without any work done, only to come back and go through it again. And again. This didn't feel rational, so I had no idea where to start. 5/

Bonus joke overheard at the vaccination center: - Will I be able to swim after getting the vaccine? - I don't see why not. - Excellent! Because I can't swim. Irish people are great.

Congrats dude! That sounds like a lot of work but well worth it.

Thank you! Yeah, it wasn't easy but it's a big relief at the other end. It's incredible how malleable the brain is.

Well done! As someone who's done CBT for anxiety, it's never easy, but you should be so proud of yourself for successfully rewiring those phobias. And for such an important cause, too. Let's kick this virus out of our lives.
-
Thank you! Yeah, I am very proud of this (or will be, it still doesn't seem real) and I want to tackle several other anxieties next. Fortunately they are not as urgent as this one!

Congrats, that's awesome! It was really interesting to see your process for overcoming it. It's something that's been hard for me to understand. I always felt the fear was mostly around the pain, but your description helped me appreciate that the reaction is more visceral.
-
Thank you! I think it started with the pain but all the experience adds to it, starting from the anxiety to the clinical setting, the smell of ether, the waiting rooms. The thing that made it jump to another level was the anesthesia not working.

Thank you Suzanne! It's been such a problem for me and now that I know that it's possible to fix, I hope I can show others a way. I don't usually share this much about myself, but there's been so much misiformation and propaganda that I saw this as an oportunity to fight back.

congrats Manuel board game about injections coming soon?! serious question, did your anxiety and fear also come from cartoon needles? like I know a game has some cardboard components with syringes printed on them
-
I think I'll pass on that game.
It can, but I notice some proportions are more bothersome than others.
Generally if there is an option to use a needle in a game, I'll take the other option. Hitman, for example.
