Yeah! I was thinking about trying to write some software for my arcade cabinet where it presents a shelf and i can only rent 2 games a week and then only play those

I definitely feel like abundance makes us appreciate each game less. I remember what it was like to determinedly play a title because well, we had invested in it and needed to get our money's worth. It often led to liking things that on first blush weren't awesome.

Yeah it is much harder to get into things nowadays! I also think trying to imagine what a game is going to be like based on box art before playing it is more impactful than I might have thought at the time
